What is PFCS?

PFCS stands for “Planning for Future College Success,” which is NSCS’s Community Service division. Members of Rice NSCS tutor elementary school children twice every month to begin inspiring them to extend their academic capabilities, and hold an annual March to College Day in conjunction with the University of Houston to show kids the possibilities that await them in college and to inspire them to pursue a college career in the future. Our chapter has its own PFCS Vice President, Ekim Ekinci (ee3@rice.edu) to oversee all of our chapter’s service activities.

Tutoring at the Nehemiah Center

Every second and fourth Thursday of the month, from 4:30-6:00 PM, volunteers from The Rice University NSCS Chapter visit the Nehemiah Center, located at 5015 Fannin, to tutor and play with elementary school children. If you have questions or are interested in joining us, email our PFCS Vice President or visit www.nehemiah1.org.
